Four of the teens in the Corolla, described as being in “their mid to late teens,” were transported to a local hospital. One of the teens, Easton Bounds, unfortunately lost his life. A family member identified him to KEZI 9 News and he was also the subject of a GoFundMe created by Brandi Crockett on behalf of Steven Bounds. The GoFundMe also identified two other passengers in the Corolla as Easton's brother, Steven Jr., and sister, Ashton. Steven Jr. had to undergo surgery to repair his pelvis and is awaiting another surgery to fix his broken jaw. Ashton remains in critical condition and will also need surgery.Details of the Crash
The incident has left the community in shock. Resident Henry Thiesfeld, who lives near the crash area, described it as “a sad thing to be talking about.” His wife went out to look and saw that the intersection was filled with emergency vehicles. They stayed away as it was a terrible sight.Prayers and Rememberance
The Eugene Police Department is still investigating the crash and there are no updates at this time. However, the GoFundMe emphasizes the need for prayers for these children as they face a long road ahead. It shares that Easton was a youth football player with Pleasant Hill Youth Football And Cheer and was remembered as “a bright and vibrant young boy who brought light, love, and laughter to everyone he met.” He had a deep passion for God and family and cherished every moment with them. Whether it was attending church, playing football, exploring the dunes, or being with friends and family, Easton lived life to the fullest and loved everyone.
