One of the key aspects is the outstanding quality of content that the platform consistently delivers each month. In December 2024 alone, there are three movies and shows that have us extremely excited to watch - a remarkable nature documentary, a delightful animated series for the entire family, and a movie that has scored an impressive 95% on the Popcornmeter on Rotten Tomatoes.

During the colder and longer nights, these offerings are perfect for cozying up at home. These three standout titles are just a glimpse of the amazing content that we are adding to our watchlist.

The Secrets Lives of Animals season 1

Narrated by Hugh Bonneville from "Downtown Abbey", "The Secret Lives of Animals" follows 77 unique species across 24 countries over a period of three years of filming. It is an incredibly extensive project aimed at capturing the way animals behave in their natural habitats, allowing viewers to see them in a whole new light. Highlights include a spider creating deceptive puppets, a wood mouse constructing signposts, and a frog forming a unique friendship with a tarantula. The team behind this documentary is no stranger to animal documentaries, with showrunner Matt Brandon having worked on "Planet Earth III" and executive producer Roger Webb from "Mammals and Big Cats 24/7".

However, this historical drama also doubles as a romantic comedy, although the synopsis may not initially suggest so. Somehow, Jones and Davis find solace in each other despite their differences. Alongside the A-list pair, there are other outstanding cast members joining this historical drama, including Woody Harrelson, Ray Romano, and Jim Rash.

Apple TV Plus has therefore lined up this animated preschool original series for both kids and the whole family to enjoy. Set in a New York City kindergarten, "Wonder Pets: In the City" is led by a trio of heroes - Izzy the guinea pig, Tate the snake, and Zuri the bunny. The classroom pets, who have become unlikely friends, escape outside to embark on musical adventures and rescue missions around the world while celebrating their unique differences. It is fun, quirky, and is sure to bring joy to even the youngest members of your family this December.
