Annual Music Festival Raises Funds for Animal Shelter
2025-01-14

The Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter is gearing up for its highly anticipated annual fundraiser, the Cabin Fever Music Fest, scheduled for Saturday, March 1. This year's event will take place at The Orchards Restaurant in Chambersburg and promises an evening filled with music and community spirit. Last year, nearly 300 guests attended, raising over $12,000 to support the shelter's adoption programs and services for homeless animals. With five bands performing a diverse range of music from various eras, this year’s festival aims to surpass previous achievements. Local businesses have shown remarkable enthusiasm, with several already committing as sponsors for the upcoming event.

This year's lineup includes performances by The Jill Fulton Band, Soleil, The Negley Brothers, Cameron Molloy & The Drivin’ Wheel, and Club Medics. Each band has generously donated their time and talent to support the cause. The event will feature music spanning from the 1960s to present-day hits, offering something for everyone. Sound and lighting will be provided by All Sound Pro LLC, ensuring a professional and engaging experience for attendees. The festival not only serves as a platform for musical enjoyment but also highlights the importance of community involvement in supporting animal welfare.

Cabin Fever Music Fest holds significant importance for the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter as it is the organization's largest fundraising event of the year. According to Cameron Schooley, the board president, the response from both residents and business sponsors has been overwhelmingly positive. Many local businesses have pledged continued support, recognizing the impact of their contributions on the shelter's mission. Already, several companies have signed on as sponsors for the 2025 event, including Wolter Advanced Dental Care PC, Smith Elliott Kearns, Diloreto Cosentino & Bolinger PC, Cumberland Valley Tree Service, Cable Eye Associates LLC, and Kyner’s Auto Sales Inc. The quick uptake of sponsorships underscores the strong community backing for the event.

In addition to live music, the festival will include a popular 50/50 drawing and raffles for large gift baskets, all proceeds of which will go directly toward caring for the shelter's animals. Doors open at 4:00 pm, with music starting promptly at 5:00 pm. Tickets are available for purchase at $10 in advance or $12 at the door if not sold out beforehand. Attendees can also reserve tables for groups of eight and enjoy a limited food menu along with a full cash bar. Various sponsorship packages are available, ranging from any amount up to $1,500, offering benefits such as ticket bundles and promotional opportunities. Detailed information about sponsorship levels can be found on the shelter’s website.

Tiffanie Smoyer, the shelter's Executive Director, expressed her excitement for the event, noting that it provides a much-needed break during the winter months while simultaneously raising crucial funds for the shelter's ongoing efforts. The event offers a unique opportunity for the community to come together, enjoy live music, and contribute to a noble cause. As the date approaches, anticipation builds for what promises to be another successful and heartwarming evening dedicated to finding forever homes for animals in need.
