This year, the streaming giant introduced a Replay exclusively for artists. Music-makers can now gain insights into which of their songs was discovered most via Shazam and which city houses the majority of their listeners. In addition to the Replay for Artists feature, this year's reports include an expanded "Top Listeners" list. Previously, users could only see if they were in the top 100 listeners for a particular musical act. Now, there are Top 500 or Top 1000 lists for both artists and genres, providing a more detailed view of listener engagement.
Apple Music has added a new feature called "streaks," which reveals the longest consecutive days a user has played from Apple Music. Streaks also extend to artists if a user has had an artist as their No. 1 for multiple months in a row. Another notable feature this year is "Date of first play," which shows users when they first discovered the song, artist, or album that defined their listening year.
These features add a new dimension to the Apple Music Replay experience, allowing users to connect with their music on a deeper level.
If you want to look back even further in time, Apple Music offers an archive of a user's Replay playlists. This allows you to rediscover your most-loved songs from years past and relive those musical moments. Beyond the personalized playlists, Apple Music users as a collective have set larger trends for 2024. The streamer announced that more women reached the year-end global songs chart than ever before, and many of the top slots went to artists who had never made the year-end charts before. This highlights the evolving landscape of music and the power of Apple Music to discover new talents.
