In the vibrant world of live music events, Arden Barnett has carved out a unique niche with his company, Ardenland. From humble beginnings in various southern states to establishing a thriving business, Arden’s journey is one of passion, perseverance, and partnerships. With over two decades of experience in the music industry, Arden now manages and promotes an impressive lineup of concerts and festivals, collaborating with both emerging and established artists. Based in Jackson at the historic Duling Hall, Ardenland not only coordinates live performances but also fosters creative experiences that enrich communities across Mississippi and beyond.

A Journey Through Music and Creativity

In the heart of the South, nestled within the charming city of Jackson, lies Duling Hall—the cornerstone of Ardenland’s operations. Founded by Arden Barnett in 2011, this company has become a beacon for live music enthusiasts. Arden’s love affair with music began during his childhood, as he moved between several southern states. Despite the changes in location, music remained a constant companion, eventually leading him to found Ardenland after a career shift.

Arden’s approach to running Ardenland is rooted in relationships and trust. After being laid off from a corporate job, he took a leap of faith, reaching out to old contacts in the music industry. His network of agents and promoters helped propel Ardenland into a successful enterprise. Today, Ardenland manages venues like Marty Stuart’s Ellis Theater in Philadelphia and the Riley Center in Meridian, while also coordinating events at venues such as the iMPAC Center and The Lawn at Lake Terrace. Additionally, Ardenland plays a key role in organizing popular festivals throughout Mississippi, including the Natchez Balloon Festival and Cathead Jam.

Arden estimates that Ardenland produces between 200 to 250 shows annually, working closely with agents from around the globe. To maintain these connections, Arden frequently attends industry conferences and meets with agents face-to-face. As the president of the Mississippi Chapter of the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA), Arden is proud of the organization’s efforts to support independent venues nationwide.

An Enduring Legacy of Music and Community

From Ray Charles to Robert Plant, Arden has had the privilege of witnessing legendary performances that have left an indelible mark on his life. These experiences have deepened his appreciation for the transformative power of music. Running Ardenland is more than just a job for Arden—it’s a calling. He finds immense joy in working alongside his dedicated team, who share his vision of making a difference in the communities they serve. Together, they continue to create unforgettable moments through music and creativity, leaving a lasting legacy in Mississippi and beyond.
