Cohen's Artistic Endeavors
Cohen, similar to most artists, is compensated with an honorarium. Additionally, her Minnetonka studio serves as a source of sales to customers who discover her talent on their way to the gates. This unique business model has proven successful for her. "It's been a great way to connect with people and share my art," she shares.October's Favorite Piece: "The Voting Line"
Carol Hancuh's "The Voting Line" was one of the standout pieces in October. It showcased life-size quilt figures ranging from Lyndon B. Johnson to a college student, all patiently waiting to cast their ballots. This exhibit was a powerful display of art and social significance. It has now rotated out, but it left a lasting impression on those who saw it.Art in Both Terminals
Both terminals offer a plethora of art options. There are play areas in each terminal, designed by Eagan's Blue Rhino Studio. One is near the movie theater, and the other is near Gate H6 in Terminal 2. A few weeks ago, a kid was having a great time operating a toy fire truck. These play areas add a fun element to the airport experience.Other Artworks on Display
In addition to the rotating exhibits, there are also pieces celebrating Indigenous culture, fossils on loan from the Science Museum of Minnesota, and seed art from the State Fair spread across both terminals. These diverse artworks add to the cultural and educational value of the airport environment.
