Westgate founder and executive chairman David Siegel praised Manilow, stating, "Barry Manilow is a generational artist and a dear friend. Over the years, we have built a personal and professional relationship that is truly special, and I am honored to offer Barry the opportunity to perform at Westgate for a lifetime."Manilow's Record at the Concert Venue
Last year, Manilow made a new record at the concert venue when he played his 637th show and dethroned Elvis Presley for the most concerts at the venue. To commemorate this milestone, he was presented with a key to the Las Vegas strip. This is a remarkable achievement that showcases his enduring popularity and talent.Manilow's Concerts in London
In May, Manilow caused concerns when he canceled a concert during his London residency, citing "doctor’s orders" via a statement on social media. However, he went on to perform the following night without any trouble. At the show, the Grammy winner performed hits from "Copacabana" to "Looks Like We Made It" for an audience of fans including Pet Shop Boys’ Chris Lowe. In an interview with ITV ahead of the London shows, Manilow declared he’s "done with touring." He said, "Everybody tells me at this age, how come I am still running around and singing the high Fs? I don’t know, I just think it’s gotten old for me now. I’m done with touring, but I’ll keep making records."Manilow's Decision to Stop Touring
Manilow spoke to Des Moines Register in July about his decision to stop touring and said he never thought his career "would last this long." He told the outlet, "When I started making records, what you do is you make a record and you go on tour. I didn’t know it would last this long. I never thought this career of mine would last this long. We started in 1974, geez, and I began to see the country and meet the people of all of these cities. And I was always shocked when they showed up to see this skinny little guy doing his songs." He went on to confirm that he still planned on performing, saying, "We all know I am saying goodbye to touring. I am not saying goodbye to performing. I am done packing."Tickets for Barry Manilow’s residency in Las Vegas are on sale.
