Embracing the rich musical and cultural heritage of Covington, the Bonded Spirit Music Festival promises an unforgettable experience this March. The festival will honor the region’s bourbon tradition while presenting a lineup of exceptional artists in Americana and bluegrass genres. Due to unexpected changes, Grammy-award-winning duo Rob Ickes & Trey Hensley will headline the event, replacing Nat Myers.
The festivities kick off on Friday, March 7, with a pre-party at Smoke Justis, featuring performances by the Whiskey Bent Valley Boys. On Saturday, March 8, the main attractions begin with the new Bonded Spirit Music Trail, offering free concerts at various stops along The B-Line from 1 PM to 4 PM. Participating venues will serve special cocktails made with New Riff Distilling’s award-winning bourbon. Attendees can enjoy performances by Jonny Estep & Gravel Drive, Billy Cantrell, Brendan Martin, Marcus Oglesby, Sydney Adams Duo, and Jonathan Pennington.
In the evening, the main stage at The Rickhaus will host Lindsay Lou, Rob Ickes & Trey Hensley, and The Brothers Comatose. This ticketed event runs from 5 PM to 11 PM and features some of the most celebrated names in Americana and bluegrass music. Lindsay Lou, known for her captivating blend of bluegrass and soulful pop, and Rob Ickes & Trey Hensley, acclaimed for their powerful acoustic sound, will deliver electrifying performances. The night concludes with The Brothers Comatose, whose high-energy shows have earned them a devoted following.
The festival not only celebrates the vibrant music scene but also highlights Northern Kentucky’s pivotal role in bourbon history. Named after the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897, the event commemorates John G. Carlisle, a local advocate for bourbon purity. By combining live music with bourbon tastings and experiences, the festival fosters a deeper appreciation for both the spirit and the artistry that define this region. It stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of Kentucky’s cultural treasures, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in a unique and enriching experience.
