2024-12-06
When Lisa Evans tied the knot with Alex Brown on March 16, 2018, an unexpected sight emerged in the wedding photos. It seemed as if she was marrying one of her bridesmaids, Emma Savage. Even their son, Jacob, was left puzzled upon seeing these images. Now, a TikTok video compilation of these wedding photos has garnered over 6 million views, with thousands of comments highlighting the unusual bond between the two women.
Fun with Old Wedding Photos
Evans, now 35, recently revisited these photos with her 5-year-old son, Jacob. His innocent question, "Did you marry Emma or Daddy?" brought a chuckle to her face. This incident inspired her to share a video compilation of the wedding photos on TikTok. The response has been overwhelming, with more than 6 million views and over 3,000 comments from TikTokers who couldn't help but notice the closeness between the bride and her bridesmaid. One of the top comments, with over 55,500 likes, simply reads, "Omg! Good luck, babe!" This phrase is a nod to Chappell Roan's hit song, which seems to hold a certain significance in this context. Another commenter wrote, "Congratulations to you and ur wife," while yet another person commented, "Who was the random guy standing in the back of the first picture? I feel like He was intruding."How It All Began
Evans met Savage, also 35, when she moved to Bath for work. She was a magazine editor for Bath Weekend and on her first day, she set out to explore the local businesses. That's when she discovered Grace & Ted, an independent designer retail boutique owned by Savage and her mother. From the moment they met, there was an instant connection. "We vibed straight away — if there’s a friend version of love at first sight, that’s what I felt!" Evans recalls. After that, they became inseparable, seeing each other daily. There has been much speculation about the nature of their relationship. "We are very touchy-feely people (especially when drunk), so that always raises eyebrows — especially on dance floors," Evans admits. As an author of sapphic books, her novel "Inside Her" becoming a bestseller on Amazon has only added to the speculation. Some online have assumed that she and Savage are an item. Evans playfully remarks, "Maybe I should marry her; it would be very on-brand for me!"Wedding Day Moments
During the wedding, Evans and Savage were still as close as ever. Savage taught Evans how to do the crab in her wedding dress on the dance floor, and Evans gave Savage her engagement band to try on. These moments, along with when they cut the wedding cake together (which was baked by Savage), made it easy for some people to think they were an item. There are also similar photos of Evans hugging and kissing her other bridesmaids, showing her love for all of them. After the COVID-19 pandemic, Evans moved to Cardiff, Wales, and she and Savage don't see each other as often as before. However, they still stay in touch constantly. Their unique bond remains, even with the distance between them.
