Noah’s parents, Ian and Alisa Beth Terry, met at Syracuse University and married in 1993. This strong bond provided Noah with a supportive network that propelled him toward his first major role as the radio play-by-play announcer for the Los Angeles Clippers in 2019.

Interestingly, Noah’s initial career aspirations were far removed from sports. As a child, he entertained the idea of becoming a "TV dentist," an imaginative yet impractical notion. However, by age 13, Noah’s perspective shifted after witnessing his father’s enthusiasm for broadcasting. “I saw how much joy it brought him,” Noah explained. “It became easier to become magnetized to it.”

Ian, recognizing Noah’s interest, offered encouragement while acknowledging the challenges of the industry. “If you don’t have the talent, it’s probably not going to work out for you,” Ian told GQ. Despite this cautionary note, Noah’s passion and dedication paved the way for his success.

Emerging on the National Stage

Noah’s career rapidly gained momentum. In addition to his role with the Clippers, he expanded his repertoire to include NFL games on Nickelodeon, college football for CBS Sports, and football for Fox Sports. A significant milestone came when he took on play-by-play duties for Team USA men’s and women’s basketball during the 2024 Paris Olympics, describing it as a “dream come true.”

In May 2024, Noah achieved another career highlight by winning a Sports Emmy for outstanding personality/emerging on air. This accolade marked a pivotal moment in his journey, reflecting his growing influence in the field. Ian proudly acknowledged this achievement, noting the transition from “bring your kid to work day” to “bring your dad to work day.”

Noah’s family background in entertainment has played a crucial role in shaping his career. His grandmother, Monica Maris, was an actress and singer renowned for impersonating Judy Garland. His grandfather, Jack Eagle, was a comedian featured in numerous television commercials. These influences exposed Noah to the art of performance from an early age.

Ian occasionally joined his parents on stage, performing impressions of notable figures like Muhammad Ali and Howard Cosell. “That planted a seed in my head,” Ian recalled. “It made me realize that talking to an audience isn’t intimidating or abnormal.” This legacy of entertainment has undoubtedly contributed to Noah’s confidence and charisma in front of the microphone.
