2025-03-12

An exciting collaboration between the music and theatre departments at the University of the Ozarks is set to entertain audiences with a vibrant tribute to classic Broadway. On Friday evening, March 14th, at 7 p.m., Seay Theatre will host an unforgettable performance titled "The Great Broadway Radio Hour, Live." This event, open to all without charge, promises to bring the magic of musical theater to life through an engaging live radio-style presentation.

Under the guidance of esteemed faculty members Dr. Macy Jones, Dr. Jisook Park, and Katrina Twitty, this production draws inspiration from the renowned KUOZ radio show, originally conceived by Dr. Pat Farmer. Featuring talented students from both the University Choir and the Musical Theatre Ensemble, the performance will showcase a diverse repertoire spanning iconic films and stage productions. Audiences can look forward to hearing beloved tunes inspired by works such as The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Hamilton, The Greatest Showman, Anastasia, Big River, and The Color Purple.

This celebration of artistic expression highlights the power of music and drama to unite communities in shared joy and appreciation for the arts. By bringing together students and faculty in a creative endeavor, the University fosters an environment where passion meets talent, creating lasting memories for performers and spectators alike. Such initiatives underscore the importance of nurturing creativity and promoting cultural awareness within educational institutions.
