Pelekila, a talented seventh grader, has made a name for herself in the music world. She was recently honored at the 2024 Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards for her debut single, showcasing her unique blend of traditional Hawaiian music and modern storytelling.

In the Mele Hawai‘i competition, Pelekila demonstrated her soulful voice and exceptional guitar skills with a rendition of “Hi‘ilawe”. Her performance was a highlight, leaving audiences in awe of her talent. Her involvement in the Mālama Maui campaign also reflects her deep connection to her heritage and her commitment to cultural preservation.
