On Tuesday, Dec. 17, she shared a carousel of photos on her Instagram, capturing the joy of this special occasion. The carousel included a sweet snapshot of the birthday boy with his homemade Boston Bruins cake, a symbol of his love for the sport.

Reflections on Motherhood

In her caption, Dreyer opened up about how her confidence as a mother has grown since welcoming her oldest son. "How are you 8???? I remember the day you were born…I never thought I’d be a good mom," she wrote. But now, she is making homemade layer cakes with the Bruins logo and ice skating with her three boys. "It’s what Cal wanted and I will give these boys the world. Happy birthday buddy!!!"The first slide of the carousel showed Cal smiling as he posed by a slice of his cake. "I was in a rush making dinner last night and all 3 boys asked to help cut up the veggies. I took a deep breath and said ‘Sure! Why not?’ " she wrote. Although dinner was a little delayed, the family had a great moment together. "I can be quick to say no to their requests, but sometimes it’s easier and more fun for everyone to just say yes!"
