Eddie Murphy's son, Eric Murphy, and Martin Lawrence's daughter, Jasmin Lawrence, have taken their relationship to a whole new level. On Wednesday, Nov. 27, Eric popped the question, and the pair shared the sweet news through an Instagram video on Saturday, Nov. 30. Set to "Spend My Life with You" by Eric Benét, the video shows Eric decorating a room with candles, rose bouquets, and flower petals. Jasmin's reaction as she walks into the setup is nothing short of magical. Eric gets down on one knee and opens the ring box, and Jasmin exclaims "It's beautiful. Oh my gosh" before saying "yes" and sharing a kiss. In their joint post caption, they wrote, "We're engaged!! God truly blessed us with a love that feels like destiny." They also added, "We couldn't be more excited for this next chapter. Special thank you to everyone who made this moment so beautiful!!"

The Journey to Engagement

Although the exact date when the comedy icons' kids started dating is unclear, they debuted their relationship on Instagram in June 2021. Eric posted photos of the pair with the caption, "Head over heels in LOVE with YOU." He added hashtags like "#MyOtherHalf," "#EquallyYoked," and "#ILoveYou." Weeks later, Jasmin posted a sweet birthday tribute to her then-boyfriend, calling him "my love" and declaring, "I'm so incredibly blessed to know you, to love you, and to have you by my side." Jasmin, who is following in her dad's footsteps by pursuing an acting career, also opened up about how she and Eric met. She told InTouch Weekly in January 2022 that it was her uncle who brought them together. "We became really good friends because we bonded on a lot of things," she added. Martin Lawrence, 59, addressed the pair's romance during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in June 2022. He joked that his daughter and Eddie's son could potentially conceive "a comedy super-baby" together. He said, "We haven't talked about it. We kind of just stay out of their business and let them do their own thing, and respect their thing." But he did have one thought about a future wedding between the pair.
