2025-02-19

Music enthusiasts can look forward to an exciting lineup of performances at Machicomoco State Park. The Friends of Machicomoco State Park, in collaboration with Virginia State Parks, have organized a series of outdoor concerts designed to captivate audiences during the spring and fall seasons. Attendees will be treated to diverse musical styles performed by renowned artists. In the spring, visitors can anticipate a unique blend of traditional bluegrass infused with contemporary elements, courtesy of The Tidewinders. This event promises to kick off with an opening act by local talent Ami Baker, who will set the stage for an evening filled with melodies starting at 6 p.m. on May 31.

The autumn season brings another highlight as one of Virginia’s premier blues and rock bands, The Tom Euler Trio, returns to entertain the crowd. Following their successful debut last year, the trio is back by popular request, ready to deliver an unforgettable performance on September 13, beginning at 5:30 p.m. These events offer a wonderful opportunity for families and music lovers alike to gather under the open sky, enjoy a picnic dinner, and immerse themselves in live music. Admission to these concerts is complimentary for park visitors, although a nominal entrance fee applies for vehicles entering the park. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and soak in the ambiance while adhering to park regulations that prohibit alcoholic beverages.

Musical gatherings like these not only enrich the cultural landscape but also foster community spirit and appreciation for the arts. They provide a platform for local and regional artists to showcase their talents while inviting people from all walks of life to come together in celebration of music and nature. Such initiatives underscore the importance of supporting public spaces that promote creativity and unity among diverse groups.
