Sony Pictures Television has acquired the rights to distribute “The Miniature Wife” globally, marking a significant addition to their upcoming slate of productions. The show, which delves into the complexities of marital relationships through an unexpected technological twist, will premiere on Peacock in the United States. This collaboration brings together renowned actors Elizabeth Banks and Matthew Macfadyen, known for his Emmy-winning role in “Succession,” creating a dynamic partnership that promises both laughter and intrigue.

Inspired by a short story penned by Manuel Gonzalez, this one-hour series reimagines domestic life with a humorous yet thought-provoking lens. Produced by Media Res, known for projects like “The Morning Show” and “Pachinko,” the narrative follows a couple navigating unforeseen challenges brought about by a scientific mishap. Mike Wald, co-president of Distribution & Networks at SPT, expressed enthusiasm about the project, emphasizing its potential as essential content for global audiences.
