Hagerstown Prepares for Vibrant Celebration of Music and Art

An upcoming cultural extravaganza in Hagerstown, Maryland, promises to bring the community together through music, art, and culinary delights. The Hagerfest Music and Art Festival is scheduled to take place on May 2 and May 3. This two-day event will feature a diverse lineup of performances and exhibitions spread across various locations within the city. From visual arts showcases to live musical acts, the festival aims to engage attendees with an immersive experience that highlights local talent and creativity.

On the evening of May 2, festivities kick off at 5 p.m., beginning with the Merge Exhibition opening reception held at 6 N. Potomac St. Visitors can enjoy this exhibition until May 16. Simultaneously, photography enthusiasts are invited to explore a visual arts display located at the Barbara Ingram School for the Arts Foundation office. Later in the day, students from the school present their photographic and cinematic works during a senior showcase held between 5 and 7:30 p.m.

The following day sees the festival expand its offerings as it moves to University Plaza starting at 11 a.m. Here, guests will be treated to performances by acclaimed bands such as The Kelly Bell Band, BISFA Commercial Band, and Lana Spence Band. Hub City Brewery adds to the excitement by hosting multiple acts including Muse to Sirens and Staff Infection. Food lovers won’t go hungry thanks to a food truck park set up at Hatter’s Plaza offering an array of delicious options.

Additional attractions include a latte art competition hosted at Cannon Coffee later in the evening. Live! at Hub City Vinyl invites audiences to enjoy performances by Geno Marriott & The Spirit of Jazz and the Maryland Symphony Orchestra. To cap off the night, a silent disco after-party awaits participants from 8 to 10 p.m., where tickets are priced at $12 each.
