However, despite the various rumors and developments, a source close to the Trump family has revealed that their split is amicable and not a contentious one.

The insider adds that it's a friendly split between Kimberly and Don Jr. They had a long engagement that was in a holding pattern. The Trump family still holds a special place for Guilfoyle, referring to her as very intelligent, smart, and loyal. A separate source close to the Trumps suggested that Don Jr. sees Florida socialite Bettina Anderson as an equivalent to Melania Trump. Don Jr. always wanted to impress his father, and someone like Bettina, a model in Waspy circles of Palm Beach, would do just that.While the confirmation of the breakup is new, another source told PEOPLE that Don Jr. and Anderson have been seeing each other for about six months. Trump's eldest child even took her on a trip to Alaska and introduced her as his girlfriend when he was still with Kim.This all came one day after Trump announced Guilfoyle's nomination for an ambassadorship in Greece. He praised her extensive experience and leadership, stating that she is perfectly suited to foster strong bilateral relations.
