Summer Cinema Series Kicks Off in Roseburg's Stewart Park
2025-05-02

An eagerly awaited tradition is set to return this June as Roseburg Parks and Recreation unveils its summer cinema schedule. Families can enjoy a series of free outdoor film screenings at the Nichols Band Shell, located within the scenic Stewart Park. Partnering with Rogue Credit Union, the city department aims to provide an entertaining experience for all ages every Friday evening throughout the month. Each screening will feature popular PG-rated films that promise excitement and laughter for attendees.

This year’s cinematic lineup includes a diverse selection of animated adventures and heartwarming stories. The series kicks off on June 6th with "Mufasa: The Lion King," followed by "Dog Man" on June 13th. Attendees will then enjoy "Moana 2" on June 20th before concluding with "Inside Out 2" on June 27th. Before the main attractions, guests can partake in pre-show activities starting at 7:30 p.m., ranging from live music performances to interactive crafts for children. Movie showtimes commence at dusk, estimated around 9:00 p.m., offering a perfect opportunity for families to relax under the stars.

Community engagement extends beyond just watching movies, fostering connections through shared experiences while emphasizing safety and enjoyment. Snack vendors will be available, selling popcorn and cotton candy, though visitors are welcome to bring their own refreshments. It is important to note that certain regulations apply—children aged 12 and under require adult supervision, alcohol consumption is prohibited, and pets cannot attend these events. As weather conditions may affect scheduling, it is advisable to stay updated via local channels or social media platforms. Through initiatives like Movies in the Park, Roseburg continues to enhance community spirit and promote family-friendly leisure opportunities.
