Indie Rock and Jam Bands Take the Stage

This Saturday, October 12th, local indie rock trio Atari Safari will open for MoonBeem, an indie/jam band from Grand Junction. MoonBeem will showcase their dazzling originals mixed with classic covers, promising an engaging and eclectic performance. On Tuesday, October 15th, California indie jam rock band Blü Egyptian will take the stage, delivering a captivating blend of music genres.

Zimbabwean Marimba Master Brings the Sounds of Africa to Telluride

On Thursday, October 17th, renowned Zimbabwean marimba player, drummer, singer, and teacher Blessing Chimanga will grace the Alibi stage with his seven-piece band. Chimanga, an instructor at the Kuntandara cultural music school in Boulder, will showcase the power and beauty of African music, blending the marimba, an African traditional drum, and a horn section with an amazing saxophonist and trumpet player. Chimanga, who travels the world as an African ambassador, is eager to share the holistic African sound, rooted in stories, culture, and upbringing. Attendees are urged to bring their dancing shoes, as Chimanga promises an energetic and captivating performance that will have the audience on their feet from the first song.

Synth-Punk, Indigenous Sounds, and Colorado Rock Collide

On Friday, October 18th, LA's BIG FUN will bring their high-energy synth-punk sound to the Alibi stage. The following night, Saturday, October 19th, indigenous singer-songwriter Christian Wallowing Bull will open for Nashville-based electronic rock duo Hero & the Madmen. On Tuesday, October 22nd, Kind Hearted Strangers, a Colorado rock and roll band driven by unique harmonies, will take the stage, with the Alibi owner predicting their potential to grace the main stage of a Telluride festival in the near future.

A Unique Classical Music Experience with PROJECT Trio

On Thursday, October 24th, The Alibi and Telluride Chamber Music have teamed up to host PROJECT Trio, a unique classical music show featuring a beatboxing flute, saxophone, and double bass. With a special start time of 7 p.m., this performance promises to offer a fresh and captivating take on classical music.

Americana, Rock, and Psychedelic Blues Converge

On Saturday, October 26th, folksy Americana husband-and-wife duo Goldpine, who have performed at Telluride Arts events in recent years, will take the Alibi stage. The following Saturday, November 2nd, 100 Year Flood, a five-piece rock, soul, and psychedelic blues band from Durango, will make their Telluride debut.

Appalachian Rock and Roll and Punkish Sounds from North Carolina

On Friday, November 8th, Cigarettes @ Sunset, a band from Boone, North Carolina, will bring their driving guitar riffs, drums that swerve from country to punk, swelling violin, and soaring vocals to the Alibi stage, offering a unique blend of Appalachian rock and roll and punkish rock.

Denver-Based Talent Closes Out the Season

The Alibi will close for a short break from November 10th to November 21st and will reopen on Friday, November 22nd, with the sounds of Denver-based Hunter James & the Titanic, who will perform R&B-inflected folk-rock music. The following evening, Saturday, November 23rd, Denver duo WABI, an electronic project with members from Dragondeer (who played the Telluride Blues and Brews Festival in 2014), will bring a mix of dance beats, experimental synthesis, vocals, guitar, and harmonica to the Alibi stage.

The Thing Returns to Telluride After a Successful European Tour

Having just completed a debut European tour, The Thing will return to The Alibi on Wednesday, November 27th. Influenced by the music of the 1960s, The Thing mixes funk and disco grooves with Spanish-born flamenco and slide guitar, promising a captivating performance.

Gunnison's Black Canyon Boys Bring Their Signature Mountain Grass Music

The final November show at The Alibi is on Saturday, November 30th, when Gunnison's Black Canyon Boys trio will perform their signature mountain grass music, closing out the venue's vibrant off-season lineup.The Alibi's owner, Andres Vargas-Johnson, noted that almost all the featured bands he booked during the off-season reached out to him, eager to perform in Telluride. This diverse lineup showcases the venue's commitment to bringing a wide range of musical genres to the community, catering to the eclectic tastes of Telluride's music enthusiasts.
