Gray Media, a company that has recently undergone a rebranding from Gray Television, is honoring two prominent local broadcast television figures. These leaders are set to retire at the end of 2024, one in the Peach State and the other in the Palmetto State. In Columbus, Georgia, Holly Steuart will bid farewell as the General Manager of WTVM-9, the ABC affiliate for the city. Simultaneously, Scott Sanders is retiring from his role as the GM of WMBF-22, the NBC affiliate for the Myrtle Beach-Florence, S.C., DMA.

Steuart's Impressive Career Journey

Steuart has been closely associated with WTVM since 2013. She not only holds the position of General Manager but also serves as a Regional Vice President, overseeing additional markets in Kansas, Florida, and Georgia where Gray owns and operates broadcast TV stations. Under her leadership, WTVM has implemented state-of-the-art technology, enabling "News Leader 9" to produce an impressive 50 hours of live local newscasts each week. Her previous career roles have included stints as the GM of WHP-TV in Harrisburg-York-Lancaster, Pa.; KVVU-TV in Las Vegas; and KFYR-TV in the Bismarck-Minot, N. Dakota, market. Steuart's career actually began at WTEN-10/WCDC-19 in the Albany-Schenectady-Troy DMA. In March 2025, she will be inducted into the Georgia Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame, a significant honor for her career.

WTVM's Technological Advancements

The installation of state-of-the-art technology at WTVM under Steuart's leadership has been a game-changer. This technology allows the news station to bring viewers the latest local news in a more engaging and timely manner. With the ability to produce 50 hours of live local newscasts each week, "News Leader 9" has become a go-to source for residents in Columbus, Georgia. The advanced equipment and systems have enhanced the quality and reach of the news broadcasts, making a significant impact on the local community.
