Apple Martin, the 20-year-old daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, has embarked on her debutante era. This significant milestone was marked when she attended Le Bal des Débutantes on November 30th. Dressed in a custom Valentino gown that took 750 hours to make by Valentino Creative Director Alessandro Michele, Apple made a stunning entrance.

The annual fashion event of Le Bal des Débutantes introduces around 20 women between 16 and 22 into society. In recent years, Lily Collins and Margaret Qualley have also debuted at this prestigious event. Apple's strapless blue Valentino gown, fashioned in six dégradé tiers of silk plissé chiffon and cinched at the waist with a black silk bow, was paired with matching blue Valentino sandals. This unique outfit set her apart.

First Custom Gown Wearer

Apple holds the distinction of being the first Le Bal attendee to wear a custom gown by Michele. Her parents and brother, Moses, all showed their support by wearing Valentino outfits. Gwyneth, 52, donned a gown from Valentino's spring 2025 collection, while Chris, 47, and Moses, 18, wore custom Valentino tuxedos. Gwyneth shared her maternal pride by posting color and black-and-white photos of Apple in Michele's creation on her Instagram Stories.

Early Interest in Fashion

Apple has shown an early interest in fashion. At 18 during Paris Fashion Week in 2023, she made her first appearance on the fashion scene wearing a black-and-white dress-and-blazer ensemble from Chanel. Fashion journalist Derek Blasberg once said that late Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld predicted Apple would be a "Chanel girl" when she was just 4. However, the college student doesn't consider herself "super trendy." She loves sweaters, oversized cardigans, loafers, and a good pair of comfy Levis. For her, the most important thing is feeling like her genuine self when wearing an outfit, aiming for a mix of classic '90s and cool grandpa.

When not in school, Apple occasionally assists her mom with her lifestyle brand Goop. She modeled a dress from the brand back in 2020 and appeared in the campaign for GOOPGLOW Glow Lotion in 2021, which she also helped develop. Gwyneth expressed her joy about having a daughter of that age who is interested in clothes and skin. She said Apple is more girly than she is and is good at doing makeup.
