Gwyneth Paltrow Sells Her Luxurious Los Angeles Estate for $22 Million
2025-01-28

Renowned actress Gwyneth Paltrow has parted ways with her sprawling mansion in the exclusive Mandeville Canyon area of Brentwood, California. The property, spanning 8,000 square feet on two-thirds of an acre, was recently sold for $22 million, marking a significant transaction in the upscale neighborhood. Initially listed at nearly $30 million in May 2024, the home saw its price reduced to $24.9 million by October of the same year before finally finding a buyer. The sale not only highlights the fluctuating real estate market but also signifies a new chapter for Paltrow as she downsizes amid changing family dynamics.

The residence, originally constructed in the 1950s and extensively renovated around 2009, offers a blend of modern amenities and rustic charm. With six bedrooms and an expansive kitchen featuring double cooktops and a wood-burning oven, the single-story home is designed for both comfort and entertainment. The property also includes a one-bedroom guesthouse equipped with an office, gym, wine cellar, movie theater, and game room, making it a self-contained haven. Lea Porter, Paltrow's real estate agent, emphasized the area's exceptional privacy, attributing it to tall hedges and mature trees that envelop the neighborhood.

Paltrow initially purchased the house in 2012 for $9.95 million alongside her then-husband Chris Martin. Over the years, the property served as a family home for Paltrow, Martin, and their two children, Apple and Moses. Following her marriage to producer Brad Falchuk in 2018, the couple, along with his two children, moved into the residence. However, with her children growing older, Paltrow decided to sell the home shortly after Moses graduated from high school. The decision aligns with her desire to downsize and focus on other properties she owns in Montecito, California, and Amagansett, New York.

Beyond the sale of her Brentwood estate, Paltrow remains committed to community causes. Despite her home being unaffected by recent wildfires in Los Angeles, she and her Goop brand pledged $2 million toward fire relief efforts. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Paltrow expressed her solidarity with affected communities, emphasizing the importance of belonging and the significance of homes as sanctuaries. This gesture underscores her dedication to giving back and supporting those in need, even as she transitions to new living arrangements.
