Foodie Moments at a Young Age

Despite her tender age, Townes has already had some memorable food experiences. In an Instagram Stories video shared by Hilary Duff on Tuesday, Dec. 10, the 7-month-old was seen sitting in her highchair, just in a diaper, happily babbling as she attempted to chew a piece of steak. Juices ran down her body as she explored this new taste sensation. Duff humorously captioned the post, "Starting with steak on the 4th child. Pureés aint doing it for her," along with a warning for vegans to skip the story.

This isn't the first time Townes has dabbled in food. On the same day, Duff recalled taking her to a chef friend's house where she put "a big glob" of gourmet quiche in her mouth and started "choking a little." But Duff remained calm, saying in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, "Normally, I'd be panicked, and now I'm waiting, waiting, 'Oh good, you worked it out.'"

The Relaxed Approach to Parenting

It seems Duff is taking a laid-back approach to parenting this time around. She shared with PEOPLE that Townes is her "chillest" baby. "She's a really good baby. She just started sleeping through the night, which is incredible. She just is the chillest one," Duff said. "I don't know if it took me having four kids to get a chill one, or if I'm more chill. I can't figure out which one it is, but she just goes along for the ride."

Duff also reflected on her parenting approach in a May 2021 interview with PEOPLE, sharing that she loves the "mayhem" of motherhood. "I love when everyone's full of energy and the house is buzzing. You never know what the day is going to bring or what your kid's going to say," she said. "We're in the thick of it, and it feels good."

Family Dynamics and Multiple Kids

Hilary Duff and her husband Matthew Koma welcomed Townes on May 3. They also share daughters Banks Violet, 6, and Mae James, 3. Duff shares son Luca Cruz, 12, with retired NFL player Mike Comrie. The family is a beautiful blend of different ages and personalities, and Townes fits right in.
