Hoda Kotb Celebrates New Chapter with Heartfelt Goodbyes
2025-01-13

After 17 years of early mornings, Hoda Kotb has officially turned a new page in her life. On January 12th, the veteran broadcaster shared an Instagram post that symbolized this significant change: a screenshot showing her morning alarms turned off. The image revealed three previously set wake-up calls from 3:00 AM to 3:30 AM, now silenced. “No alarm … whaaaaaaaattttt???”, she playfully captioned, marking the end of an era as she departed from the Today show on January 10th.

Kotb’s departure was not just a personal milestone but also an opportunity to reflect on her relationships within the broadcasting community. In a touching gesture, she expressed heartfelt support for her former co-hosts. She encouraged Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin, who is stepping into her role, with a message that read, “Wake up in the morning … and knock ‘em dead.” Alongside this note was a photograph of Guthrie and Melvin at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. Jenna Bush Hager, another close colleague, received warm words from Kotb as well, praising her and wishing her well in her future endeavors.

This transition marks the beginning of a fresh chapter for Kotb. Her final day on the Today show was filled with emotional moments and memorable tributes. Surrounded by colleagues and special guests like Kermit the Frog, Maria Shriver, and Simone Biles, Kotb expressed profound gratitude for the support she received over the years. This moment signifies not only the closure of one phase but also the exciting possibilities that lie ahead. It reminds us that every ending is a new beginning, and change can be an opportunity for growth and renewal.
