2024-12-05
This evening (Thursday, December 5), after nearly three weeks in the Australian jungle, the fifth and sixth famous faces of this year's season of 'I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!' were sent packing. Barry McGuigan and Maura Higgins were voted out by ITV viewers, following Melvin Odoom who left the show on Tuesday night. The savage double exit left fans stunned, with viewers taking to X in large numbers to express their opinions. One viewer fumed, "MAURA SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE FINAL 4 NOBODY SPEAK TO ME #ImACeleb." Another said, "The English voting the only two Irish out. #imaceleb."

Fans' Disappointment at Barry's Departure

Fans were deeply disappointed to see Barry go. As one said, "I genuinely thought Maura was a potential winner #ImACeleb." Another added, "British public. Why vote Maura I’m appalled #ImACeleb." And yet another raged, "WHO THE F**K VOTED MAURA OUT. FUMING."

Barry's Thoughts on His Exit

Following his exit, Barry expressed his disappointment. He said, "As I’m the original cyclone, I am kinda disappointed with that slipping and looking like a clown. It would’ve been great." He also mentioned that the show was "harder" than he initially expected. Regarding "lovely" Danny Jones, who recently commented that Barry was like a dad to him, Barry said, "It makes me feel great. All my kids are the same age as him, or around the same age as him." When asked who he would like to win, Barry stated, "Danny boy!"

Maura's Perspective on Her Exit

During her exit chat with Ant and Dec, Maura, who finished in seventh place, said, "I’m really happy! I said it last night, I said it this morning. I was like ‘It’s my time.’ I had a gut feeling and my gut feeling is never wrong!" She added that she knew it would be "tough" but the show was the "most amazing" experience. She explained that she really embraced it and didn't think she would as much as she did. She also revealed that it was "tougher" than she expected. After leaving her hidden camp and its beloved bubble bath, Maura mentioned that living in luxury was filled with good memories, having been isolated with Reverend Richard Coles, whom she branded a "lovely human." She further noted that it was "wild" that there had been no arguments in the camp this year, unlike in previous years when celebs have come to blows.
