Within the realm of I'm A Celebrity, there exists a tale that once unfolded, sharing a rather grim task that the campmates surprisingly don't have to undertake in the heart of the jungle.
Uncover the Hidden Jungle Task
Dealing with the Jungle Challenges
In the midst of grappling with the gruesome Bushtucker Trials and enduring days on a meager rice and beans diet while putting up with Ant and Dec's antics, the celebrity campmates are also burdened with a series of tasks to maintain the camp in tip-top shape. Seasoned ITV viewers are well aware of the list of jobs that these campmates must complete daily, allocated by the "camp leaders." This includes activities such as cooking, cleaning, collecting water, and sourcing wood for the fire. However, contrary to the beliefs of I'm A Celeb fans at home, there is one particular task that the stars don't actually perform. There is one task within the jungle that the campmates surprisingly don't have to do. Phil Tufnell, who emerged victorious in the show back in 2003, shared some insider secrets in his 2023 memoir, The Tourist. He revealed that there is actually one task that they don't have to undertake, even though it is often thought that they are responsible for it. Tufnell also made a comeback to the jungle in 2022 to compete in the All Star series and reached the final four before Myleene Klass was crowned the queen. He explained that the contestants aren't truly forced to clean out the disgusting camp toilet, known as the dunny. "A little secret here – the contestants remove the dunny, but don't actually empty it," he said. "They carry it down to a camouflaged wooden hut, tap on the door, and then make a quick getaway. It's essentially an extreme version of that old knock-and-run game where you wrap a bit of dog muck in newspaper, set it on fire, drop it by someone's front door, ring the bell, and then leg it."The cricketing star won the King of the Jungle title back in 2003. Tufnell expressed a particular fondness for Shaun Ryder on the show. He said, "I mean, absolute legend, and we just have a great time laughing together. He makes me laugh, and I think, especially with that stick, he looks like Yoda. You know the little bloke with the hessian cloak in Star Wars with the stick and the ears. I reckon he's gonna start levitating soon, haha."
