A seasoned professional in the entertainment sector, Kate McColgan, is set to embark on a new chapter as the head of television at Fís Eireann/Screen Ireland (SI). This prestigious position will see McColgan based in Dublin, where she will commence her duties next month. Her responsibilities encompass fostering relationships with streaming platforms and broadcasters while championing local writers, producers, and directors. The agency plays a crucial role in nurturing Ireland's film, TV, and animation industries.
In her capacity as head of television, McColgan will oversee projects from inception through completion. With over two decades of experience under her belt, McColgan has held significant roles at various production companies and networks. She previously managed the development and production processes at Parallel Films and played a pivotal role in launching MTV Arabia Television. Additionally, she contributed to Element Pictures' co-production slate, which included acclaimed TV series such as Ripper Street and Blood. Her expertise extends to international markets, having served as the head of European production for MPI Media.
