Details of the Incident

A representative for Jamie Foxx informed the Los Angeles Times that the actor required stitches after being hit in the face with a glass. It remains unclear what exactly triggered this incident that took place on Friday night at the celebrity hotspot Mr Chow. According to a spokesperson for the actor, "Someone from another table threw a glass that hit him in the mouth." This led to Foxx having to seek medical attention and get stitches. The police were promptly called, and the matter is now in the hands of law enforcement.

The Beverly Hills Police Department responded around 10 pm on Friday to a reported assault with a deadly weapon. However, their investigation determined that the incident was unfounded. Instead, it involved a physical altercation between parties. The BHPD conducted a preliminary investigation and completed a report documenting the battery. No arrests were made, leaving many with unanswered questions.

Aftermath and Foxx's Response

On Sunday, a telephone message was left at Mr Chow seeking more details about the incident. In an Instagram post on Sunday morning, Foxx expressed his gratitude to those who had checked on him. Apparently referring to the Mr. Chow incident, he wrote: "The devil is busy … but I’m too blessed to be stressed." This shows his resilience in the face of adversity.

Foxx, who won an Academy Award for his portrayal of Ray Charles in 2004's Ray, turned 57 on Friday. In a Netflix special last week, he revealed that an illness a year ago that led to weeks in the hospital was a "brain bleed that … led to a stroke." This adds another layer of complexity to his recent experience.
