Jett & Campbell 'Pookie' Puckett: A 'Beacon of Love' Amidst Bad News
2024-12-09
In 2024, an extraordinary journey unfolded for Jett and Campbell “Pookie” Puckett. These two individuals relied on one another as they embarked on a path of unexpected internet fame and achieved their greatest dream - becoming parents. The couple, married since 2018, first captured the attention of the digital world in January 2024. Campbell, with her dedicated fanbase on her personal TikTok account, began including her husband Jett in her videos. He affectionately referred to her as “Pookie” or praised her stylish outfits when they were out together. Their wholesome content quickly gained traction online, and by December 2024, they had amassed 1.4 million followers on TikTok.

Adjusting to Newfound Attention

When speaking exclusively with PEOPLE as two of 2024’s Creators of the Year, Jett and Campbell opened up about the challenges of adjusting to the new-found attention on their lives. Jett shared, “It is truly difficult to relax when we leave our house. Everywhere we go, people approach us. But this is just a part of it. The real benefit is when they come up to us in person. Their sweetness can be overwhelming, and it makes us feel like we are making a difference in the world.” Campbell agreed, adding, “We want our fans to be happy when they meet us. It’s about finding the right balance. By putting out content that people love, we expose more of our lives. We want to let people in, but it’s a delicate balance.”

The Delicate Balance of Parenthood

The Pucketts demonstrated the precarious nature of this balance when they announced their pregnancy in June 2024. They expressed, “Our life has been leading up to this moment, and we are overjoyed and blessed to bring another life into the world. We are ready for this new phase and this new purpose as parents.” After their announcement, they shared the joy of their journey into parenthood on social media. In November 2024, their daughter Paloma Campbell Puckett was born. Campbell added that “Paloma is Spanish and Italian, and in both languages, it means ‘dove.’ Italy holds a special place in our hearts.” Her middle name, Campbell, is her mother’s maiden name and where she got her name. They wanted to keep the name within the family. Before their daughter’s birth, Jett predicted that Campbell would be a bit of a “pushover” as a mom, while Campbell believed Jett would be the ultimate “girl dad.” However, Jett emphasized that they are “a unit” in the end. He said, “Campbell and I are not individuals; we are a team. Now, we are bringing our daughter into the world and showing people the amazing experience of becoming parents and being the ultimate team as husband and wife. We are truly blessed and grateful to share this message with the world.”

Balancing Parenthood and Creativity

Even as they balance parenthood and their ongoing creative endeavors, such as launching their fashion brand Quintessential Love in October 2024, the couple remains committed to being a “beacon of love that fills a void in the world, especially on social media.” Jett explained, “The modern media, both traditional and social, thrives on people’s fear and anger. It’s a clinical fact that humans focus more on negatives than positives. Fear and anger are the best ways to keep people addicted and watching. That’s why we are bombarded with terrible, scary, and angering news all the time.” Campbell added, “We feel incredibly blessed with our platform. We are grateful for the people who love us and show us so much love. It’s surreal to have so many people who look forward to our future.”
