Jingle Jam Brings Christmas Music to Homebound; Marathon on Dec 9
2024-12-08
The Bluegrass Music Academy and Volunteer Owensboro have come together once more to bring the magic of live Christmas music to those who might otherwise miss out. Throughout the month of December, a diverse lineup of 10 music groups will grace 20 local facilities with 45-minute sessions filled with timeless Christmas tunes and heartwarming singalongs.

Spreading Holiday Cheer with a Jingle Jam Marathon

Randy Lanham, the education director of the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum, emphasizes the importance of reaching those who can't get out to enjoy live music. "This is about bringing the music to them," he says. Adding to the excitement, Lanham will join Wayne Morris and Brian Basham on December 9 for a Jingle Jam Marathon. The trio plans to visit all 20 locations in a single day, ensuring that holiday cheer reaches every corner of the community. "This effort is about showing these wonderful people that they are loved and not forgotten," Lanham continues. "We hope to inspire others to volunteer in any way they can, as we all have gifts to share."

Outreach through Participating Bands

Many of the participating bands are an integral part of the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum's outreach program, which performs monthly at various locations. This collaboration allows them to extend their musical reach and bring joy to a wider audience. The public is encouraged to follow the journey on Volunteer Owensboro's social media platforms and the Healing Arts Owensboro website, where photos and videos from the performances will be shared throughout the day.
