Meghan Markle Shines at Paley Honors Gala with $36K Necklace & Wedding Hair Updo
2024-12-05
Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, continues to shine on the red carpet with her impeccable sense of style. On December 4th, she attended the 2024 Paley Honors Fall Gala in Beverly Hills, where she once again affirmed her red carpet prowess.

Her Gown - A Black Strapless Oscar de la Renta Masterpiece

Markle donned a black strapless Oscar de la Renta gown that boasted a sweetheart neckline, a knee-high slit, and a short train. This gown was a true showstopper, exuding elegance and sophistication. Teamed with Stuart Weitzman's Nudist Sandal in black suede, she completed the look with a touch of understated glamour. For some eye-catching sparkle, she wore the Logan Hollowell 18k Fortuna Tennis Necklace with Diamonds in white gold. According to the brand's website, this $36,450 piece is a "divine embodiment of luck and fortune inspired by the Roman goddess herself. Fortuna, the goddess of fortune and luck, serves as the muse for this exquisite piece, seamlessly blending elegance with the whims of fate." Each diamond, carefully set in the necklace, reflects the goddess's ability to randomize and bring luck, adding a touch of celestial brilliance to the wearer.

Her Makeup - A Minimalist Masterclass

Makeup artist Daniel Martin, who has long worked with Markle, including on her wedding day, kept her makeup look simple yet stunning. With fluttery lashes, soft pink blush, and a pink glossy lip, she achieved a look that was both chic and timeless. Of course, there was plenty of glow - the Duchess' dewy, radiant skin was nearly as reflective as her diamond necklace.

Her Hair - An Elegant Updo

Hairstylist Hector swept Markle's dark locks into an elegant updo. Her hair was parted in the center and secured into an intricate bun at the back of her head, with lots of volume at the crown. A longtime fan of effortless updos, Markle's look is similar to the low, center-parted bun she wore for her 2018 wedding reception. Created by hairstylist George Northwood, the bridal look featured loose curled pieces framing her face.

At the Gala - Supporting a Friend

At the gala, Tyler Perry, 55, received the highest honor from The Paley Center for Media. Markle posed on the red carpet alongside Perry, who is godfather to her and Prince Harry's 3-year-old daughter, Princess Lilibet. In 2020, Perry offered his Los Angeles home to the couple and their 5-year-old son, Prince Archie, as they transitioned out of their royal roles. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were listed as tribute chairs for the big night, alongside Whoopi Goldberg, Gayle King, Taraji P. Henson, George Lucas, Kerry Washington, and more. Markle, however, stepped out solo for the event one day after husband Prince Harry squashed any speculation about their relationship status.During a conversation with New York Times columnist and Dealbook founder Andrew Ross Sorkin at the publication's 2024 DealBook Summit, the Duke of Sussex, 40, said, "Apparently we've bought or moved house 10, 12 times. We've apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it's just like, what? It's hard to keep up with, but that's why you just sort of ignore it. The people I feel most sorry about are the trolls. Their hopes are just built and built, and it's like, 'Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes,' and then it doesn't happen. So I feel sorry for them. Genuinely, I do."
