Minnesota Twins Games Return to Broadcast Television
2025-04-01

A landmark deal has re-introduced live coverage of Minnesota Twins Major League Baseball matches to broadcast television, marking the first such occurrence since 2012. As part of this agreement, a select number of Twins games will now be simulcast on Gray Media's FOX affiliate within the Twin Cities area. This multi-year collaboration ensures that ten Tuesday night games will air on KMSP "FOX 9," showcasing Major League Baseball’s production efforts through Twins.TV.

In addition to the main broadcasts, a pregame show lasting forty minutes will precede each televised match. Furthermore, several Gray Media-owned stations spanning Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Iowa are set to carry these games. According to Gray Media, this initiative restores regional over-the-air coverage for Twins fans, a feature absent since 1988. The executive chair of the Twins, Joe Pohlad, expressed enthusiasm about expanding fan access through Twins.TV, stating that partnering with FOX 9 aligns perfectly with their mission to reconnect with local audiences via free television.

This partnership not only revives cherished traditions but also fosters new memories among Minnesota residents. Marian Davey, General Manager at KMSP-TV, highlighted the significance of bringing the Twins back to broadcast TV, emphasizing their role as an integral part of Minnesota's identity. By enabling broader access, this move encourages greater engagement with Twins baseball across various platforms, from cable to streaming services, celebrating the team's enduring legacy while inviting new generations to join in the excitement.
