In Escanaba, a new resource has emerged for music enthusiasts. The Music Co-op (TMC) serves as a network where local musicians can come together to collaborate. Whether one is a singer, an instrument player, or a songwriter, everyone is welcome to join, regardless of age or skill level. Membership is completely free. Wasted Pretty, a trio from the Midwest, has been enchanting audiences with their original compositions for the past three years. In a time when punk music is constantly evolving, this band is making a significant impact with their macabre yet playful sound.Fronted by twins Ginger Sky, 21, who takes on the role of lead singer and guitarist, and backup singer and bassist Joey Knauer, also 21, the band is completed by seasoned drummer Joe Bauer, 26. Their energetic performances have amassed a collection of over 20 original songs, such as the fan-favorite "Vampires and Lipgloss," "Serial Killer," and "Look Out." The lyrics of their songs, often described as creepy yet fun, showcase a unique blend of humor and darkness that connects with fans of all ages.Performance Venues and Milestones
Wasted Pretty has graced various venues and events. They have performed at the Monarch Festival in Ishpeming, the Cactus Menekaunee, and Butch’s Bar in Sturgeon Bay. A notable achievement for the band was when they collaborated with Pat mAcdonald, the renowned musician from TimBuk3, to produce their first album.As they continue to gain popularity in the punk scene, Wasted Pretty is currently working on new material and planning a series of upcoming performances.
