This weekend, the vibrant Ultra Music Festival makes its grand return to Bayfront Park in Miami. As part of the event's logistics, certain road closures and rerouting measures will be enacted starting Thursday evening. These adjustments are expected to last until early Monday morning, March 31st. To avoid unexpected traffic disruptions, it is essential for both locals and visitors to familiarize themselves with the altered routes.
Beginning approximately at 9 p.m. on Thursday, traffic modifications will be in place throughout the festival period. Biscayne Boulevard northbound drivers will be directed into southbound lanes at Southeast 1st Street, rejoining their original path at Northeast 4th Street. Southbound motorists on Biscayne Boulevard should expect a westward diversion at Northeast 6th Street, with options to resume southward travel via Northeast 2nd Avenue or North Miami Avenue. Notably, there will be no southbound access on Biscayne Boulevard from Northeast 6th Street during this time.
Access to the Port of Miami remains unaffected, with normal entry available through Northeast 5th Street. Authorities suggest utilizing the Port of Miami Tunnel, accessible from Interstate 395, as an alternative route. Moreover, Bayfront Park will be inaccessible to the public from March 12 to April 9, with specific sections like the Dog Park and Kid’s Playground closed from March 24 to April 4.
Law enforcement officers from various agencies will be present to ensure smooth operations and assist with traffic management. Their presence aims to support residents and attendees while maintaining order in the bustling festival environment.
With these changes in effect, planning ahead can significantly enhance the experience for everyone involved in the festivities. Whether you're attending the festival or simply navigating the city, understanding the new traffic patterns will help minimize inconvenience and ensure a smoother journey.
