Steven J. Schupak, currently serving as the executive vice president and station manager of Maryland Public Television (MPT), will assume the role of president and CEO on July 1st. Schupak's career at MPT spans nearly two decades, during which he has held various key roles including chief operating officer and station manager. His responsibilities have encompassed content creation, educational services, and development activities. Under his guidance, MPT has not only maintained its commitment to delivering high-quality programming but has also expanded its offerings to include innovative initiatives such as the Maryland Center for Media Literacy & Education. Since joining MPT in 2003, Schupak has been instrumental in transforming the network into one of the leading public television stations in the country. He oversaw the establishment of the Maryland State Ad Agency division, providing advertising and media buying services for governmental clients. Additionally, his efforts have propelled MPT to become the sixth-largest PBS member station in terms of total revenue.
