Las Vegas' KLAS-8 is set to bring "Coast-to-Coast Countdown to 2025" to viewers between 8 pm Pacific and 12:30 am Pacific across December 31, 2024, and January 1, 2025. The broadcast will air live on 69 Nexstar-owned and partner television stations, an increase from 14 stations last year. It will reach viewers not only in Las Vegas but also in New York (where Mission Broadcasting-owned WPIX-11 is operated by Nexstar through a shared services agreement), as well as in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Denver, Tampa-St. Petersburg, and Washington, D.C. markets.This year's countdown is expected to be an hour longer than last year's broadcast. It will feature a plethora of entertainment, including musical performances, special entertainment, and a countdown to midnight across all four time zones in the United States. Viewers will be treated to the magnificent midnight ball-drop in New York City, a spectacular fireworks and drone show from Reunion Tower in Dallas, fireworks from Denver's downtown area, and an epic 10-minute firework show launched from the rooftops of nine hotels on the Las Vegas strip.

Musical Performances Galore

The telecast will showcase the surviving members of The Jacksons, who have left an indelible mark on the music industry. Foreigner, who once headlined a CBS New Year's Eve program from Miami some three decades ago, will also take the stage. Sheila E. will bring her unique style, as will Rick Springfield. Morris Day, Lisa Lisa, George Thorogood, and Lee Rocker of the Stray Cats will also contribute to the musical extravaganza. These artists will add a touch of magic to the New Year's Eve celebration.
