Junior High Area All-State

In November, 53 students in grades 7-9 from the Fayetteville-Manlius School District were chosen to participate in the NYSSMA Junior High Area All-State Festival. These young musicians, each with their unique musical gifts, will come together to create a harmonious symphony of sounds. From the skilled fingers of Gustavo Aguilar-Miranda on the orchestra to the powerful voices of Skylar Brenner in the mixed choir, these students are ready to make their mark.

Among them, Nethra Balasubramanian shines in the band, Hazel Bazzano captivates with her orchestra performance, and Sam Beeman brings energy to the band. Each student has worked hard to reach this level and is now ready to share their passion for music with the world.

Senior High Area All-State

In February, an impressive 85 F-M High School students in grades 10-12 were selected to perform in the NYSSMA Senior High Area All-State Festival at Ithaca College. These older students have honed their musical abilities over the years and are now ready to take on more challenging repertoire.

Neil Adamski leads the symphony orchestra with his exceptional skills, while Danielle Alpert's treble choir performance is sure to leave a lasting impression. From the concert band of Evelyn Anzalone to the symphony orchestra of Shreya Bhattacharya, these students are at the forefront of musical excellence.

The selection process is based on the students' scores from the NYSSMA Solo Festival this past spring. District Coordinator of Music Shawn Hebert believes that this could be a record number of students selected from F-M, highlighting the district's commitment to nurturing musical talent.
