Rapper YFN Lucci Released from Prison, Ready to Inspire and Create Change
2025-02-01

After serving time in a Georgia prison for various charges, including racketeering, 33-year-old rapper YFN Lucci has been granted early release. Born Rayshawn Lamar Bennett, the artist behind hits like "Everyday We Lit" walked out of the Burruss Correctional Training Center on January 31st. His family, close friends, and music team were present to welcome him back. Lucci expressed gratitude for the support he received during his incarceration and stated his intention to use his platform to inspire others. He emphasized personal growth and redemption as key elements of this new chapter in his life.

Lucci's journey through the legal system began with an indictment in 2021 by Fulton County District Attorney Fani T. Willis, who accused him of multiple serious offenses. However, through a plea deal, most of these charges were dropped. Bennett pleaded guilty to one count related to Georgia’s Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act, leading to a sentence that included both prison time and probation. Despite the challenges, Lucci remained focused on his future and his music.

The rapper's legal team, comprising Drew Findling, Marissa Goldberg, Gabe Banks, and Pat Dixon, was instrumental in securing his early release. They noted that Lucci would be reuniting with his children and family, and would soon return to performing for his fans. This transition marks not only a personal victory but also a significant moment for his supporters and record label, Think It’s A Game Records. The CEO of the label, Girvan “Fly” Henry, expressed excitement about Lucci's homecoming and his potential to continue inspiring and creating meaningful change through his art.

Lucci's resilience and dedication have grown stronger during his time away. With his return, he aims to embark on a new chapter filled with inspiration, elevation, and impactful contributions. Fans and industry insiders alike are eager to witness the transformative power of his music and actions as he moves forward in this next phase of his career and life.
