Smooth Nature: Harmonizing Heartfelt Melodies and Meaningful Lyrics

Discovering the Spark: From Open Mic to Smooth Nature

The group's vocalist, Marvin Alexander, has always been drawn to the power of music. In 2021, he was encouraged by his cousin to take the stage at an open mic night, where he met the group's saxophonist, Gerald Wilburn. This chance encounter marked the beginning of Smooth Nature's journey, as the trio soon came together to create their distinctive sound.

Navigating the Studio: Smooth Nature's Evolving Sound

The group's first release, "No More," was part of a collection of songs that the band initially recorded and shared with the world. Diarian Alexander, the band's vocalist and pianist, as well as Marvin's younger brother, recalls the memorable experience of stepping into the studio for the first time. "I'd never been inside the studio at that point in time, and it was my first time. That was very memorable," he said. The group's subsequent releases, "Waterslide" and "How Would It Feel?," allowed them to explore their identity and experiment with different production techniques, as they navigated the complexities of the studio environment.

Embracing the Art of Production: Smooth Nature's Evolving Craft

As the group's journey progressed, Marvin Alexander began to develop his production skills, learning how to record vocals and the band's instruments. This newfound expertise enabled Smooth Nature to take a more hands-on approach to their music, with the group now writing and producing their own songs. "Our song 'Genuine' and our song 'That Feeling Of Love' just came out, and the next two that are coming out have pretty much been fully produced by us," Alexander said. "It's very much just thinking of ideas, then I'll make that sound and that feeling at home."

Spreading the Message of Love: Smooth Nature's Lyrical Ethos

At the heart of Smooth Nature's music lies a deep commitment to conveying a message of love and passion. Diarian Alexander emphasizes the group's desire to counter the prevalent themes of "breaking up, money, sex, drugs" in contemporary music. "We are trying to change that president. We spread the message of love, and really, truly, it goes through a lot of our songs. We're only singing about our ladies, really, to get people to know that in life, the most important thing to do is to love on big skills and large scales, to go close and far to us."

Expanding Horizons: Smooth Nature's Upcoming Releases and Tour Plans

Smooth Nature's dedication to their craft is evident in their release schedule, with the group set to drop a new song every month. Their next offering, "Love Story," began as a secondary guitar riff and blossomed into a fully developed track with the collaborative efforts of the trio. Beyond their musical output, the group is also planning a Texas tour for the upcoming year, a venture that Marvin Alexander, who also serves as the band's manager, describes as a significant learning experience. "We're trying to make sure we have the back end of everything we do down because, you know, in the beginning, it was just,' Oh, I want to sing on stages; this is fun,'" he said. "But this job takes way more than just getting some instruments and playing. Understanding how the business works and meeting the right people, the different connections involved getting good at what you do, the skills behind earning and producing, it's so many tasks."Smooth Nature's journey is a testament to the power of passion, authenticity, and a deep-rooted connection. As they continue to captivate audiences with their soulful melodies and meaningful lyrics, the trio's unwavering commitment to their craft and their message of love is sure to resonate with music lovers far and wide.
