The National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) West Central Division, which encompasses Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, and Wyoming, witnessed the exceptional performances of KWU's vocalists, showcasing their versatility and artistry across both Classical and Music Theatre genres.

Emerging Stars Claim Podium Positions

Among the ten KWU vocalists who took the stage, three first-year students shone brightly, earning coveted placements in the finals. Grace Corman, hailing from Salina, secured a remarkable second-place finish in the Classical category, while Brandy Sandoval of Wichita claimed third place in the Music Theatre division. Kaiden Comeau, also from Salina, rounded out the impressive results with a fourth-place finish in Music Theatre.

Semifinalists Showcase Depth of Talent

The KWU contingent's success extended beyond the finals, with several students making it to the semifinal round. Zander Flener, a first-year student from Salina, and Tru Haesemeyer, a senior from Lincoln, Kansas, both advanced to the semifinals in Music Theatre. Additionally, junior Perry Grewell, representing Odessa, Texas, earned a spot in the semifinals of the Classical category.

Rounding out the KWU delegation were Adrian Aranda, a sophomore from Salina; Evan Burns, a junior from Colorado Springs, Colorado; Donovan Johnson, a first-year student from Salina; and Kirsten Lamia, another first-year student from Salina.
