Tammy Slaton met her late husband Caleb Willingham at Windsor Lane Rehabilitation Center in Gibsonburg, Ohio. It was during her weight loss journey that their paths crossed, and they quickly fell in love. As she told PEOPLE exclusively at the time, "What's not to love? He really fit in with our family." This meeting was a turning point in her life, leading to a beautiful marriage in November 2022.However, fate had a different plan. Seven months later, Caleb passed away at the age of 40 due to unknown causes. In late July 2023, Tammy was surrounded by her loved ones as she attended his memorial service in Ohio. She later expressed her deep love for him, saying, "He was my best friend and I loved him dearly. When I met Caleb he became my guardian angel and now he really is watching over me."

Opening Up About Her Sexuality After Caleb's Death

Earlier this year, Tammy briefly opened up about her sexuality following Caleb's death. In a TikTok video in January, she responded to a follower who asked if she was transgender after using emojis for the Pride flag and transgender flag in her caption. She explained, "No, I'm not trans. I'm just a supporter of everybody. I was saying I was pansexual but I kinda stopped messing with guys after my husband passed. So, I'm like a lesbian. I was just showing support. I'm not a hater. Love is love. Everybody deserves love whether they're gay, straight, trans, pan, bi, nonbinary, whatever. I'm just a lover."

Preparing to Start Dating Again

Tammy expressed her readiness to start looking for someone in the clip. Chris told her that the only thing that matters to him is that the person she finds will treat her well. Tammy shared her recent feelings, saying, "Lately I've been feeling like it's time for me to start moving on and to start seeking love again, but this time I'm thinking of seeing a female. As it stands right now, I don't want to be with another man. It just doesn't feel right. I don't even have those feelings for a guy anymore after Caleb passed."The season finale of 1000-Lb.
