Taylor Swift Beaten by Ryan Reynolds in Celebrity Roommate Poll
2024-12-04
Ryan Reynolds emerged victorious in a poll among Americans regarding their preferred celebrity roommates. This survey, conducted by the Harris Poll on behalf of Zillow from November 7 to 11, involved 3,071 American adults. The results showed that the Deadpool star took the lead.

Zillow's Poll Findings

According to Zillow, 17 percent of respondents chose Ryan Reynolds as their top pick. In contrast, Taylor Swift was the top choice for 14 percent. Dune star Zendaya ranked third with 9 percent, and megastar Beyoncé came in fourth with 7 percent. Swift is close friends with Reynolds and his wife, Blake Lively, and she is even the godmother of their daughters. Reynolds confirmed this relationship during the promotion of his latest film, Deadpool & Wolverine.

Gen Z's Preferences

For Gen Zers aged 18 to 29, Zendaya was the top choice with 19 percent. Reynolds and Swift ranked second and third, respectively, with 16 percent and 11 percent of the vote. Newsweek reached out to representatives of Reynolds and Swift for comment via email. Additionally, the comedian Druski was the influencer or content creator that Gen Z most preferred as a roommate, receiving 24 percent of the vote.

Top Athletes as Roommates

The top athletes that Americans wanted for roommates included household names like Simone Biles and LeBron James. Simone Biles ranked first in the athletes category with 17 percent, followed by LeBron James with 11 percent. Footballer Lionel Messi and F1 star Max Verstappen also made the list.

Swift's Spotify Wrapped Success

Although Swift may not have been the U.S.'s top choice for a roommate, she can take some comfort in this year's Spotify Wrapped results. The audio company announced that Swift was the most-streamed artist of 2024, thanks to the release of The Tortured Poets Department and the prominence of her record-breaking Eras Tour. In a message to her fans played via Spotify, Swift expressed her gratitude. She said, "I look back on this year and think about how special you guys made it for us being on the Eras Tour. We went all over the world. We went to Europe, Australia, Asia, back to America, then to Canada." And she added, "So, thank you if you came to see the show. Thank you for streaming the music. It's just been such a wild ride, and I really appreciate everything you guys have done, including listening to my music so much. So cool."Do you have a story we should be covering?
