Acadia String Quartet: Bringing Music to Life
The Acadia String Quartet, sourced through the national boutique string quartet agency Listeso Music Group, consists of Callie Brennan, Tudor Dornescu, Nicole Parks, and Ben Noyes. They bring their talent to Portland, where they have been performing since 2022. Cape Elizabeth resident Eliza Matheson and her daughter attended the Taylor Swift-themed concert in March. Dressed up and wearing bright red lipstick, they were engaged by the quartet and were even allowed to sing along. Tasha Robinson from Falmouth also attended the same show and was impressed by the beauty of the candles and the songs.These concerts aim to democratize access to classical music. As Lucia Casado from Fever said, each performance, featuring local talented musicians, is set in iconic venues and illuminated by the glow of thousands of candles, creating an intimate and immersive atmosphere. The Portland church, with its prime location and stellar acoustics, is the perfect venue for these concerts.
The Fever website lists popular Adele songs like "Hello," "Rumour Has it," "Someone Like You," "Send My Love (To Your New Lover)," and "Rolling in the Deep" as likely parts of the program. For Coldplay, the gorgeous tune "The Scientist" and other hits like "Clocks," "Fix You," and "Viva La Vida" are expected to be performed. Tickets for the Adele and Coldplay performances range from $23 to $36 and can be purchased at feverup.com. Each show requires its own ticket.
