Win-Win for the Community
Executive Director Jessica Hanley emphasized the significance of the auction. "You get to come out and support people you know, doing art that they love or experiences they love. At the same time, it's supporting the Children's Museum. It's a true win-win situation," she said. Longtime volunteer Stephanie Jones added that the auction was free to attend, along with the food and refreshments, allowing attendees to focus their investment on bidding.Supporting the Museum's Day-to-Day
The funds raised directly contribute to the museum's day-to-day activities and special programs. As Hanley explained, "It's what keeps our doors open and allows us to offer enriching experiences to the children." These everyday creations brought out the creativity of unexpected artists, as Jones pointed out. "This is more pushing people outside their comfort zone and allows them to really appreciate a different side of themselves."Unique Auction Items
Among the auctioned items were a wide variety of objects. They came from neighbors, friends, and co-workers, adding a personal touch. For example, chef Jeremiah Wrest offered a cooking class for four, where he would teach them how to prepare a fine dining meal. This unique experience was highly sought after. An Event to Remember
This is the 21st year of the auction, and it has become a highly popular event on cold winter nights. It brings the community together and showcases the talent and creativity within. The auction not only raises funds but also creates a sense of community and support for the Children's Museum.
