Two years have passed since the last airing of Celebrity Big Brother. With the awkward and tense finale and other controversies, fans might have thought it wouldn't return. But recently, we got some insights thanks to executive producers Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan.

When Could Celebrity Big Brother Return?

The heads of Celebrity Big Brother, still on a high from the success of Big Brother 26, spoke to EW about the spinoff's potential return. Allison Grodner gave an idea: "If you look at it, and again, we can't speak for CBS, the history of Celebrity Big Brother has it going against the Winter Olympics. While it did air one season outside of the Winter Olympics, two out of the three seasons were scheduled as counter-programming to the event. This means there's a possibility CBS will prepare for another season in February 2026."For those eagerly waiting for a Big Brother spinoff after Reindeer Games was confirmed not to happen in 2024, this gives them something to look forward to.The live feeds of Celebrity Big Brother Season 3 were delayed after the show started, with whispers among the Houseguests about an altercation between contestants. There was also a lot of pettiness from the cast regarding Todrick Hall's private conversations. This made it easy to assume other celebrities wouldn't want to participate in a future season.Rich Meehan echoed the fact that it depends on CBS. "Yeah, we would love to do it. There are usually much bigger things in play, like scheduling and airtime, and a lot of factors that are bigger than Big Brother. But we love doing it. It's really fun, and it would be great to do again. Sometimes we have to wait and see how many scripted shows are happening and all that stuff. There's a lot of other things that go into it."In the past, Big Brother had an exclusive show available on Paramount+, but now spinoffs rely on CBS's television schedule. BB returns when there's nothing big for CBS to run otherwise. It's the perfect program for when there's a lull in other shows, as fans can fully devote themselves to it.If nothing else, we now know when to expect a new season if it does return. It doesn't guarantee a return, but it dismisses the notion that the network doesn't want the show back due to previous seasons.
