Entertainment news often brings us insights into the lives of our favorite celebrities. This year, the Kardashian-Jenner family is making a significant change to their Christmas Eve celebration. Kim Kardashian, in a recent Vogue interview, revealed that they are opting for a more intimate and low-key gathering instead of their usual extravagant bash. The Kardashian-Jenner Family's Holiday Shift - A New Tradition in the Making
Kim Kardashian's Decision and Its Reasons
Kim Kardashian, 44 years old, shared in a clip posted to Vogue's Instagram on December 14 that this year they are going for a really low-key Christmas Eve party. She was at the grand opening of her SKIMS store in New York City when she gave this interview. Despite breaking her foot earlier in the month, nothing was going to stop her from attending the grand opening. She completed the interview on a scooter. The reason for this change is the ongoing construction at their place, making it difficult to host the large-scale soirée they are known for. "So we're doing a really family intimate one that I'm really excited about," she elaborated.
Although the change is a departure from their signature glitzy events, Kim assured fans that the family will still be going all out with their outfits. "We're still dressing up to the nines because that's what we do." She also hinted that this more relaxed Christmas Eve gathering doesn't mark the end of their legendary parties. "They're just beginning," she teased. "Our kids love them, and now all their friends want to come. It's such a fun tradition."
Historical Significance of Their Parties
Although the extravagant gatherings are taking a temporary break, these parties have historically been major affairs. In the past, celebrity guests like Paris Hilton, Jennifer Lopez, and John Legend have attended. While the parties were initially hosted by matriarch Kris Jenner at her home, the family has taken turns hosting over the years. Last year, Kim's estate was transformed into a winter wonderland with fake snow and a ski lodge. In 2021, Kourtney's party featured a magical all-red theme with performances from Sia and various festive activities for the kids.
So, while this year's celebration may be more toned down, it's clear that the Kardashian-Jenners are keeping the holiday spirit alive in their own special way. Their ability to adapt and create new traditions while still maintaining their essence is truly remarkable.
