Over the years, the Bengals' seasons have often left me disappointed. This particular season stands out as the most disappointing start-to-finish one of my lifetime. During training camp, there was an ominous feeling that has somehow been exceeded by the actual season. It's a complex relationship with the team that I can't quite put into words.

There is a palpable discontent among Bengals and UC football fan bases. When UC football talks about recruiting their backyard but signs a significant number of out-of-town HS players while neglecting local talent, it raises questions. At 5-7 and 8-16, fans are growing restless.

TV and Entertainment

One of the TV show recommendations is Ted Danson's new Netflix sitcom, Man On The Inside. Sally Struthers also makes an appearance. With 8 episodes, it's definitely worth a watch. It offers a unique viewing experience that keeps you engaged from start to finish.

I'm a big fan of NBC's Chicago PD and the character Dante Torres. The show has a certain charm and intensity that keeps me coming back for more.

Music and Food

Our weekend music plans involve Noah Smith's Crooner Circus Songwriter Festival at the historic Southgate House Revival on Saturday night. It's a 40-musician music festival that promises to be an unforgettable experience.

We also stopped at Lehr's Market in Milford and had the Bootsy Collins meatloaf sandwich. It was seriously good. Along with that, we added wings, pork tenderloin, "Ryan's" Blend ground beef, and meatballs to our basket. It was a culinary adventure.

Other Random Thoughts

I fear going to a comedy club in the same way I feared being called on in class. It's a strange feeling that I can't quite shake off.

I believe I've convinced Kelly that we can move the Christmas tree into the spare bedroom after Christmas instead of taking it down and putting it up every year. It was a moment of genius.

I'm honored to have a Heisman Trophy vote again this year. I vote online for 1st-2nd-3rd place, but my vote cannot be made public until after the announcement. It's a responsibility that I take seriously.

There isn't a more overused, misrepresented, and never really explained word in Cincinnati sports than 'accountability'. It's a term that gets thrown around a lot but often lacks substance.

I've never understood giving power to rivals/critics. It seems strange that OSU fans don't spell words with the M the week of the Michigan game. It's a small thing but it stands out.

Don't worry about things you don't care about. It's a simple philosophy that can save a lot of stress and anxiety.

I heard Tommy Thrall say on the Hot Stove Show that Terry Francona feels like a 10 win difference for the Reds. I hope the front office/ownership isn't banking on that. No manager is worth 10 wins in a season.
