The couple first met in 2008 after Georgia's Miss England win. As Danny revealed on last night's I'm a Celebrity episode, it took them a year to go on their first date. Initially attracted to Georgia because she was a fellow Northerner, Danny faced some challenges in getting her to agree. "It took me a year to get her because I invited her out for a roast. It was just like clubbing; we couldn't talk," he told his campmates. "I was like 'do you wanna go to the pub tomorrow?' and she was like 'Yeah;. I text her in the morning and she was like 'Sorry, I can't make it'. And then weeks went on and she didn't make it, couldn't make it, turning me down. And I gave up in the end. Then about eleven months later she text me saying 'Do you wanna go out for a drink or get breakfast?' and I was like 'Yes!' So I picked her up and took her to the waffle house in St. Albans. That was literally like twelve months later."Prior to this, Georgia also shared how she was initially hesitant to go on the date with Danny, thinking, "He was a bit of a d*ck, and I didn't really like him." However, her mother's persuasion led her to give it a chance a year later, and they have been together ever since.

Since going on their first date in 2009, the couple has been together for 15 years. Danny proposed to Georgia in 2013 during a holiday in Cyprus. A year later, in 2014, they got married in a ceremony in Georgia's hometown of Malton, North Yorkshire.
