<Amy Adams> Daughter's Request Led to Years Without Makeup in Public
2024-12-08
In this captivating exploration, we delve into the world of Amy Adams. Known for her glamorous red carpet appearances, she takes a different approach when out of the spotlight. At 50 years old, she recalls how her 14-year-old daughter Aviana once requested that she keep it natural. “She didn’t like me wearing makeup,” Adams shares. “She just wanted me to look like Mom, not like Amy Adams.” And for years, she complied, even sneaking in some mascara here and there. But more recently, under her daughter’s influence, she’s working on an upgrade to her typical mom uniform.

Her Daughter's Influence on Her Look

“The funniest thing is,” Adams says with a laugh. “I’m usually the least manicured at home. But lately, per my daughter’s request, I’m making an effort. She’s like, ‘You can’t wear workout clothes if you’re not working out, Mom.’ It’s made me think about my appearance in a whole new way. I used to just do the leisure part of athleisure, but now I’m taking it more seriously. It’s a small change, but it means a lot to me and my daughter.”

At home with her husband Darren Le Gallo and Aviana, Adams often finds herself in the role of helping her daughter get ready. While her husband gets ready on his own, she runs around, braids Aviana’s hair, and puts together her own look. Usually, it involves a ponytail and maybe a hat. It’s a routine that has been a part of their lives since Aviana was born.

In September, the family traveled to the Toronto International Film Festival together for the debut of “Nightbitch,” marking Aviana’s first time on the red carpet. “It was an amazing experience to share that with her,” Adams says with pride. “She was so supportive, telling me, ‘Mom, you do this all the time. You got this!’ It meant a lot to me.”

Public Speaking and Her Daughter's Support

During a Friday, Dec. 6 appearance on “Live with Kelly and Mark,” Adams added that she’s “not sure” if her teen daughter will follow in her acting footsteps. “If it feeds her soul and she loves it, I’m here for it,” she said. “But so far, she has no interest.” Despite the uncertainty, Adams is happy to support her daughter in whatever she chooses to do.

Even though she gets nervous about public speaking, having her daughter by her side gives her a sense of confidence. It’s a reminder that she has someone in her corner, cheering her on.

Amy Adams continues to balance her glamorous public life with her low-key home life, all while being influenced by her wonderful daughter. Her story is a reminder that family can have a big impact on our lives.
